HISTORY

   Behind the Big Dipper Ice Cream Parlor lies 44 years of history. We have moved from a 2 window ice cream stand to a store front ice cream parlor, making all our own hard ice cream and creating our own recipes.

    The opening of the Big Dipper means the arrival of spring. It’s exciting around here especially after a long winter.

    The Big Dipper is not just a business but a phenomenon that’s repeated in our neighborhood year after year. It represents the community’s identity. The culture of the business is the primary contribution to family & community. Our commitment to the Dunkirk / Fredonia and surrounding areas is as strong today as it was 44 years when we served our first ice cream cone.

     For 44 years our employees have moved on and accomplished many goals. Now their children are applying for work at the Big Dipper. Every summer is like a family reunion at the Dipper. Our past employees travel from all around the globe, and come back to visit.
